ReplyDeleteHere in the Kingdom you find many Nejdi women sporting the red Indian dot also known as the kumkum or the bindi. I am guessing it is this Season's latest must have fashion accessory for women frequenting Riyadh's Kingdom Centre.
ReplyDeleteHindu mythology has it that the red dot denotes the third eye and wearing it prominently, is supposed to be good for the pituitary and it follows, therefore, for the thyroid gland. Of course, this is outside the realm of conventional evidence based Western medicine but followers of this abound in India, Indonesia, Singapore and parts of Scandinavia and as we are finding out now in parts of Saudi.
