A list of some of the items I liked:
A new definition for a rubber duck :D ,, Jackie came to mind instantly, although she moved to Couch Avenue, still the RubDuckie is mentally attached to her image in my mind ;p
Who can live without an olive spoon?

UMA : Urban Materials + Accessories online
cool site check it out, although I doubt that I left much to be seen ;p
Hiro Nakamura

Hiro Nakamura will only sound familiar if you are into the series Heroes! A recent addiction of mine, Hiro along with Matt Parkman & Peter Petrelli are the cutest of them! there are a lot of other addicts to Heroes, world wide, there is even a Heroes WIKI !!! Also Heroes Revealed is a great site.
Regarding the background of the actor performing Hiro moodless said it first :}
Although I am liking the series & following it up but I prefer movies ,, they have a beginning & an ending in a few hours :D the story stretching is not always done well! even if it was as long as The Lord of The Rings trilogy still it ends in less than a day.... I wouldn't have to wait for the network, ratings and demand to stretch the series if they are earning well :> I am still in season 1 episode 13, lets see if I will stay interested for long.
Oh the reason for this post is that when he started looking for a samurai's sword, the samurai is real & he is called "Takezo Kensei", there was a peice of reality in the sword's story, check this link out, where the writer of that post thinks that Takenzo Kensei is "Miyamoto Musashi" who is well known among the Japanese samurai [the wiki link I inserted is not highly trusted!] how ever back to the Kirainet:
he suggests
"“Takezo” is an alternative reading of Musashi 武蔵, and “Kensei” is the highest rank a samurai can hold, only legendary samurais are considered “Kensei”. “Kensei” could be translated as “Heroe”."
Which adds credibility to the story by mixing history & fiction, that is also a good combination for a perfect lie, the best lie is the one that is half real, using real things/ facts/ people to insert them in a fictional story will make it more believable. Just like the girl with a pearl earrings :D although in the girl with a pearl earrings case, the painting is an inspiration for the novel.
Girl with a Pearl Earring
Originally, is it a novel or a painting?
Which came first?
It's originally a painting that had no much information about, no story no background on it nor on the painter, he is Dutch called Johannes Vermeer ,, I love wiki
Then in 1999 a novel was written, by the American Tracy Chevalier, who took the painting as an inspiration to write that novel about a young girl called "Griet" who had to work as a maid in the Artist house "Vermeer's" ,, afterwards he paints her wearing his wife's pearl earring which caused her to be fired, then married a man who she was in love with "Pieter",,,, the rest can be seen in the movie! Produced in 2003
Three things made me write this post:
1- I liked the painting
2- If the reader, movie watcher did not know that the novel is built on the painting but does not relate to its real story "which is unknown, and there might not be one! it could be a simple portrait noting attached to it" ,, then that lack of knowledge could build a base for who might say the novel tells the story of the painting.
3- I do not like the fact that most artists, are not well appreciated in their life as much as they are in their death.

A quick dish!
Yesterday:
When I got home, lunch was not appealing, looked into the fridge found some useful things [mushrooms - coriander - Parmesan] and did the following:
Took out some garlic & coriander

Butter in the pan

MUSHROOMS

Crushed garlic with coriander, added some salt when squashing them, it makes it easy to squash them :D this is my mother's tip! Then added some pepper "I prefer freshly crushed" and some dried rosemary

Added the mushrooms to the mix

Did not have time to cover the pan & wait for the mushrooms to sweat so i added a little bit of water ;p then after a minute or two added some cream over

A few minutes to simmer, the mushrooms with the fake white sauce mixed along well :D finally added some Parmesan cheese just before serving

Annnnnd :D I was DONE, it was ready to be eaten

This sauce with the mushrooms fits a pasta or even with some grilled chicken or steak ,, am a white sauce + mushroom + chicken lover :D thats why I made up this dish, although am not a garlic lover but with the white sauce it works well!
Mistakes:
It was a bit salty, I forgot that I added salt to the garlic & coriander mix :/ but I ateeee it along with my sister & bro,,, and they are FINE :D el7mdillah
a lot of cream and water added, a lot of sauce was produced :D which made it fit a pasta more than to be eaten alone ;p
I ate it with some brown toast. All in all it was a good quick Q80-ChillGirl'ie meal :D "that did not sound nice! too long"

Sharq
I went to see the Sharq movie premier here in Kuwait tonight @ 8 pm......
The Cancellation:
A few hours before the show my sister & friend could not attend the premier with me but I went there :D alone and it was not easy for a shy person like me, yet I had fun.
The Family mixup:
When I stood for a while near the gate, a family stood in front of me, yes not beside me but in front of me LOL it was hillarious how people looked at me as they came to greet them and wondering who was I ??!!
The Early Bird:
I came there early! too early, 45 minutes before the show, and we did not get in till after 8:05, Arabic timing, Although I liked the fact that I came early still the wait is not for me! I could not stand still for more than a minute! I went here & there, up & down, I can not handle waiting well, if only I took that book with me at least I have read a few pages!
The Salfa:
The Faces:
Saw a few familiar faces :D they made me smile :D although some of them don't know me but they made it easy! with the net's aid that is.
The Organizing:
Was good, except for the delay in the playing time, I had a busy day so every minute counts! especially that was dead tired!
The movie, My review:
All in all I liked it, its not something extraordinary but very worth producing, I have always felt that there is this poor one Kuwaiti movie that counted as a try in the cinema world, Bas Ya Bahar, of course EXzombie's latest article proved me wrong & informed me with a lot of facts regarding the kuwaiti cinema and movie industry, an article worth reading it is a documentation of a part of the Kuwaiti culture. Still it is young, and done by amateurs "majority" but its there.
Sharg is a movie about a group of kids who want a new football after theirs being ruined! so the search for a new ball begins, in an other part of Kuwait far away from where they live, my most enjoyable part is the scenes in the middle of the movie where they flash back around the places they went to in Kuwait in their search for Sharg!
I enjoyed the movie a lot, the editing was very nice, script and enjoyed the movie as a whole, it was funny, I would give it 4/5. If you did not see it, or hasty to go & see it, DO NOT !! this is so worth it and its only ALMOST 22 minutes long :)
The Ogre:
She did not look anything like an Ogre but I wanted to use this discribtion in particular to describe her impoliteness! let aside the laughs from here & there, the comments for no obvious reason! the repeating of lines! she kept doing, when a scene of poor/ simple houses came, which I assume is in the "Taima" Area in Al-Jahra district, known as "Al-Sha3beyat" since the movie started from Al-jahra, Al-Sh3beyat are one store houses built originally by the government to house Kuwaitis until their real/ bigger houses are built but this project failed as "Al-Sawaber" one did! they are located in two areas of Kuwait: Al-Sulaibiyah & Al-Jahra.
Nevertheless some have not seen them before or took a closer look at them, I did, it was not a pleasant scene and I do not wish for them to exist in Kuwait I wish that every one has a nice house to fit them, what if they don't?
But to say: umbeeeih hathe El-Jahra chetheee !!
It's a shame, a woman with her age "mid - late 20s" does not know how Al-Jahra looks like, or heard or seen how it looks like? even if you have never been there, have you not known any one living there? haven't you heard about their houses? Personaly I do not live there but I know a lot who do, and you my miss :) should take a trip over there just to sea how things are.
I liked a guy's comment who was close by when he said "this is how Al-Sh3beyat in Al-Jahra looks like" to him I say thank you, to her I say, spare us your comments, true its not a library but to me watching a movie is the same as reading in a library :)
Tomorrow is the last day! do not miss it, book now :D
My day ended with a bag & a brochure of the movie beside me on the ride back home,,,,

The Son of man & the Thomas Crown affair!
The other day I watched a movie I REALLY like, the Thomas Crown Affair, a wonderful movie where thrill, wit, art, love is there :) a perfect combination to keep me hooked. Although its a 1999 production but still one of the movies I still like to see.
In that movie the painting below is displayed, since 1999 I wanted to dig up information about it, enough to fill all the blanks I have regarding this painting but never got to it until last week when I saw the movie again,,,, annnd here goes nothing !!!

picture from
++ Son Of Man from a Wiki point of view:
"The phrase son of man is a primarily Semitic idiom that originated in Ancient Mesopotamia, used to denote humanity or self. The phrase is also used in Judaism and Christianity."
++ However the Wiki says more about the painting above :
"The Son of Man (French: Le fils de l'homme) is a 1964 painting by the Belgian surrealist painter René Magritte."
This is for the information related to the painting and its name, now to my butter!
The artist is classifies as a surreal one, surreal in my tiny presepective is un-real, meaning it is real because the artist could use real thing/ places/ objects/ creatures! but in an unreal way, like the master Dali :) "which will have his own post if not posts"
So pretty much the word explains that kind of art, and I also like to explain it as :
painting a dream
now if you see the picture above in a large view "click it" you will notice that his eyes are not totally hidden behind the apple, still one appears more than the other, the one exposed more, the right one for us, corresponds with a shaded hand! mean while the other eye, the left eye corresponds with the not so shaded hand :D
3rd button un-buttoned
ears not symmetrical
those observations I had when I first saw it, the artist could have done them deliberately or not, but the only one I think might be not deliberate is the ear one.
I think it symbolizes the Adam and apple temptation that the son of man still faces till date! and will ever do. If life was the apple I would say it makes a lot of sense to me :) although we can see through the apple, it still hides the big picture from us!

From here and there

Wondering weather I should publish a story online or keep it in the notepad that I store it in? The mental debate is the copy rights in the first place & in the second is harsh judgment since am not really that perfect in English but for some reason feel the urge to write in that language....
Stressed, is the best word to describe the current situation of the work load combined with crappy people around you, in every work place there is the good & the bad, be smart and become neither! This should reduce the stress a bit :D

Dubai One ,, tonight 12 am
Dubai One TV will show the movie "Vicent & theo" which will not be a full biography about the artist however its a movie I must see, Van Gogh is not an artist I knew about for long ,, about 7 years ago my interest in art & artists grew he came into the picture 2-3 years ago, and the key to me loving his work was "Starry Night" an amazing painting that made me admire him & look up information about the Artist & had lead me in late 2006 early 2007 not sure when! to buy a diary dedicated to him & his work that I carry with me all day long, along with an other diary for Dali which I will take a whole other post to write about, he is too one of my top listed artists.
This video is for a song done by Don McLean who wrote & sang it as a tribute to the Dutch Artist Vincent Van Gogh.. One day I hope to visit his museum : }
Now in that slide show a lot of his paintings are there and what I like about Van Gogh's work, his simplicity & you can see clearly in most of his work that he does not reflect a perfectly well painted image of life, he does not get the lines really exact & fine in drawing different thing like flowers, houses, people's faces, they are not symmetrical as most art work that generally people like, because of that I like his work & feel that its very true & close to the heart. His work's imperfection is very natural & the key to my admiration :}
The sad thing is that he had a sad life ,, and his art was not well appreciated in his life but after his death. It is sad that people do not realize that time does not go backwards, if you find something you like in life appreciate it the moment you see it, not after its gone!
Links that I will go through "meaning not just shuffle but read all the contents in all pages" when I have enough time & will talk about the Artist more:
1- Van Gogh Gallery
2- the Wiki page, Vincent Van Gogh
3- An other Van Gogh Gallery except this one is "endorsed by the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam"
4- A page for Van Gogh in web museum,, which is from
5- Artchive dot com has a page for Van Gogh with some nice resources ,, cool site didn't go through it all but is worth reading it all up if you are interested in art.
6- The Vincent Van Gogh Museum, the most important link of all, his work's home, not all but the biggest collection of it is there.
All of that information about a single artist is just amazing! and if it wasn't for the INTERNET I wouldn't have known so much!! I love the internet :D & books...

From here and there
Woke up misunderstood, not a nice feeling.
Today, I will skip the Arabic line.
Allergy hit home, for some reason I thought that I wouldn't be allergic to the weather,,, ever.
For some reason people think that swearing is ok in English but not in Arabic, its not any less of a bad language you just hear it more often in the media as an expression of anger, so I advice the people who use swearing in English as an escape from Arabic, try translating it before you take it out of your mouth.
I'm getting bored of facebook, What made it fun is all the applications in it, the movie one (flixter?) and the Tetris game are my favorite.

Pat & Stanley
It all started late 2004 when some one sent me this video
At the time I did not know where to start my search & for some reason got busy & didn't do it, today while I was searching something in youtube I found a video for the cute Hippo & Dog with their names! Finally I got a piece of the thread :D
For some reason I did not think they were French! Through the search I found out that who made the video is a French guy named Pierre Coffin, This is his new site, Click on movies from the side bar on the left & you will be up for a lot of fun, this guy is TALENTED mashallah, great work, funny & I didn't think he was French, due to the latest 3D Animated productions being from the USA & the movie industry is huge there! However Pierre Coffin flipped the table & proved him self "in my opinion" as a great artist! I don't know more information about him but he made me laugh for more than a year on the cute Hippo & Dog ,, Pat & Stanely now :D

Paula Lima .. Só tinha de ser com você
It all started at the beauty saloon this Saturday, when I heard an amazing ring tone in a woman's mobile. I'm usually a very shy person but I liked the song so much that I asked her about it & I dared to ask her to send it to me if she can, which is not a very hard thing to do but for me I had to be brave :}
She had no idea about the song, its a new mobile I just used it "she said" The persistent me asked to have the name of the song & I did get it from her, she was so sweet to come to me and let me see the name of the song. There the search began for the song entitled com você which literally means "with you" in Portuguese, I immediately found the video in youtube, link in the title of this post, the singer is Paula Lima a Brazilian. Her voice is amazing, the genre of the music is very close to me as I am a chillout/ Lounge lover too. Still I did not get the mp3 file and might consider to get her CDs somehow at a point of time! When am a little free.
Janet Monheit, an American artist who sang the same song too, her voice/ performance is nice too but did not capture me like Paula Lima's.
On the other hand, I am looking up photoshop tutorials at the moment in youtube, youtube is becoming a daily visited site along with google & wikipedia.
