Propaganda

I have always hated politics & did not like to get into it at all, when I decided to do so recently, I based my opinion on a statement, one that came from a Journalist. After a while an other statement from the father of an other Journalist shattered all the facts "or claimed to be facts" in the first statement.

A journalist holds only his honesty as a shield, when its lost, his integrity is lost too. Until we get more facts on the table,,,,, all the stated above stands firmly as my evaluation of the Propaganda I went through.

Facts will be my main motivation to act from now on, with all do respect to what any one might claim, facts are nice to deal with.

Ironically I'm at work facing a vicious fight, because I took an action that I based on demanding facts and not claims! to make some paper pass by :)

I love Kuwait

Therefore I will base my actions on facts not claims!.... From now on.

P.S: I hid all the posts related to the recent events, kept only the last one, the one based on facts & official statements.

FINALLY the weekend is here, this one to me was anticipated the most! not because I have something interesting, but because I will finally get some sleep

مع احترامي للي اقصدهم بكلامي، بس بالايام اللي فاتت و حماسي تجاه مسألة كرامة الكويتي واللوية و المواضيع اللي كنت اكتبها من خلال يومي المعفوس،، شفت شي ودي اعلق عليه،، للي يكرر تعليقه بكل مدونه نففففسه بالظبط و التعليق لا يملك خصوصية تتعلق بالموضوع المكتوب بالمدونة، صحيح كلنا تكلمنا عن موضوع جاسم و بشار بس لكل منا محوره الخاص ومنظورة الشخصي للموضوع، فا التعليق لمجرد التعليق ما منه فايده بنظري، التعليق اللي يضيف على الموضوع و صاحب الموضوع او على الاقل يحسس صاحب الموضوع انك يا اللي معلق عنده مكلف خاطرك و كتبت حرفين تعبر فيهم عن نفسك ابرك من نسخ التعليق و نشره يمين و يسار،، شنو الفايده؟ زيادة الحماس؟ الكل كان جدا متحمس للموضوع و كلنا منفعلين "اقصد اللي مهتمين بالموضوع طبعا" فااااااااااا رأيي الشخصي بالموضوع ،، يا انك تقول كلمه سنعه ولا لاتقول شي،، هذا انا و رأيي ،، لان مادري ليش كل ما شفت حاله مشابهه للي وصفته اتذكر المظاهرات العربية و الشعارات الرنانه اللي على غير سنع ،، نفس لما كنت مؤخرا بعرس و من قبل فرقة فلسطينية سمعت اغنية فلكلورية عن انهم بيقتلون اليهود و يحررون دولتهم ،، كل هذا و اهم يغنون و يرقصون باحد فنادق الكويت ،، الحماس حلو و التعبير عن النفس احلى بس الواقعية و المنطقية هم حلوين

جريمة التلاعب بمشاعر الغير كبيرة ،، و شلون اذا كان الملعوب بإحساسه شخص يعز علي؟ و الموقف البايخ اللي انحطيت فيه اني ادري انها جذابه و انه مصدقها لانه طيب، بلحظة إنفعاله ما قدرت اقوله الصج، لاني بالبداية تأثرت حالي من حاله ،، بس لما حسيت ان الموضوع مو طبيعي و ان جذبتها جايده بديت اجيك و ادقق بالموضوع لما اكتشفت انها جذابه ،، ماقدرت اقول بنفس الوقت ،، حسيت بالذنب لاني ماقلت له بس ما كنت اقدر اقوله و اهو بقمة تأثره ،، لان التفاصيل اللي انا اهتم و ادقق فيها حيل بوقتها كانت تعني له اني مومهتمه لا فيه ولا بالموضوع المطروح،، مع ان العكس صحيح ،، لاني مهتمه انا دققت هالكثر

I'm so into Hello Kitty lately, more than the usual I think its the effect of seeing all the SANRIO shops in the US?
Another thought, is why are they so into blackberry over there? every one has one, and most of the blackberry users have other "simpler" mobiles along!

كنت اسمي البلاك بيري هناك "العنبة السودا" -ادري غلط بس هذا اللي اسعفتني فيه سرعة بديهتي- علشان اقدر احش انا و اخوي بظاهرة كثرة استخدامه بأمريكا بدون لا نحرج اللاجانب بهالشي ،، لانهم من الله كانوا يخزون فما بالك لو بقولهم اني اتحجى عن شي معاهم خاصة اني اتكلم بلغة ما يفهمونها غالبيتهم

The Never Ending Movie Quiz, is the only thing that made me back off from canceling my facebook account. I'm not active in it & I am so puzzled with why would total strangers add me to their friend's list & not talk to me nor get to know me?!! One case was a person I know by the nickname only through the net, so that person "female or male" adds me to their list, we know each other & that's it !! no interaction no nothing?! it felt so weird to me, why add up people when you don't have any thing in common with them, don't talk to them, don't do any activity with them !!?? Final result, I removed them from my list.

Which is very similar to the people who add me on MSN's IM and not talk to me, nor introduce them selves & they do not tell me what do they want!! They are just an added number/ contact & that's it!! others might think its ok to pill up people, but to me it doesn't make sense :D Therefore tonight will be cleaning up night :D

Pillow Talk & Anti-Reason

Once there was a dear blogger around, his nickname was Anti-Reason, I used to like his blog a lot & loved his quizez even more, also there was his contribution with Esetch in the Red Danube novel to be :) which was amusing, and there is a blog dedicated to it, an other blogger linked to him is the dearest Kuwaiti Demon, all those 3 great persons/ bloggers I follow silently due to lack of time to comment, which is a thing that makes me lose contact with a lot who might think I don't visit their blogs, sorry to all :) who know I read for them or don't. Back to Anti-Reason who I miss so much in the blog-o-sphere, latelly he has been on my mind a lot, I wish him happiness & good health at all times & in any where in this world :D

Anti-Reason once recommended an old romantic comedy, since I like this genre and spoke about it in the post that I linked just a few words back from those, he advised me to see it, time passed by & I got to see Pillow Talk. I liked it so much that I kept seeing the recorded tape with the Channel 2 logo on all the time "ANYTHING other than the movie appears on the screen, gets on my nerves" & the ADs which I have to fast forward because I left the VCR recording & saw it later :P I enjoyed this movie and since that day it became one of my all time favorites. Today I downloaded it, although am waiting for its DVD :D but couldn't resist when I found it through uTorrent. I love this movie & recommend it to ALL romantic comedy lovers.

Last but not least, Anti-Reason like Pillow Talk drew a smile on my face & on many other bloggers/ blog readers faces :D may he be well at all times, and all other bloggers I miss.

Random thoughts

In a simple event that went on a while ago I saw how much our attitude can make a problem big or small! Through an issue I thought was huge and turned out to be not so big! Exaggeration is a problem breeder.

Virtue ,, EXAGGERATION is bad when it comes to problems! hmm I don't know if its ever good in any way?

In a try to reply with the same amount of fire that was in the message sent to me, I found my self failing to send the even more fiery reply that I wrote & intended to send simply because I'm not convinced with it, after a conversation with my bro. who is a Leo too, that is as stubborn as I am but with age he is becoming more flexible than I am, I realized that I will take his advice! because replying quietly to that message will smooth things, turn off the fire and still keep me on the track I want to be on. Now with this brother in particular, the closest one to me, we are so close yet so appart, from that I belived that two people with the same characteristics DO NOT get a long well (Opposites Attract is so true, suddenly I hear Paula Abdoul's in the background of my head).



Yes we understand each other WELL, but when it comes to making things we both want to but in our different distinct ways, we get stuck!! you see I know that what he is saying is right OR he knows what I'm saying is right!! Now he knows that I know that its right OR at times I know that he knows that I'm right!! but because he said it OR I said it, we "depending on who gave the advice" have to modify it! although he OR I "again depending on who gave the advice" know that what he OR I say is right! and that we both think the same... but because he OR I said it "the adviser" we will not do it the EXACT way the adviser among us said it because he OR I thought of it too! in that same way...... It's a never ending battle that makes me realize by the day how much I love my brother & need him. Thank you ;p you got me & my car back on track.

To my K750i ,, كفيت ووفيت

ِِA serious fall right on the asphalt caused the screen to get broken on the side, which was the only reason that spared the poor device the agony of it being my mobile. The K750i survived ME for more than a year, which is with a regular user comes to be 10 years! Falling down is one of the many activities any mobile I own should be used to, however this last fall caused the screen to be broken! which made me buy an other one, although am waiting for the K850i with 5 Mega Pixel camera OR the T650i ,,, tough luck



The broken screen up close and the things on the screen that appear like dust are actually scratches that grew over time on my poor K750i



An other view of the bends & scratches spread around the mobile cover along with the lost "Quick Share" sticker that used to fill the space under the Zero in the keypad



The Sony Ericsson word printed beside the logo also faded away, which is a thing that I till now can not explain how did it happen


Last but not least my choice for the time being was the SonyEricsson K810i. So far 0 falls, days elapsed 2, a Q80-ChillGirl record...

For the record, the K750i is still working, the only thing that made me get an other one is that the scratch in the screen bothered me & almost sliced my cheek ;p

Busy week, work mostly, it seems at times that the 8 hours I spend there are not enough! I barely sleep, I hate it when my brain becomes too busy that sleeping turns into a hard task. Hoping that by next week the work load is less or I get used to it :D

It is fascinating how some people take lying to be a profession :D to the extent that they are not afraid to tell you that you are NOT you! A person who is at a high level is actually lowering him self, shattering his image in front of people with his lies! Poor him

تفاجأت بيوم الخميس ان اهلي مسوين لي مفاجأه اللي خربتها عليهم امي لانها بطت الجربه لما قالت لي اييي ترى لازم تشكرين فلانه "بنت خالتي" لانها جابت لج كيك بمناسبة عيد ميلادج!!
بنت خالتي جابت لي كيكتين بنكهتيني المفظلتين (كاكاو - منجا) و الالذ بالموضوع انهم من البرررررررررررررردد!! كيك عايسكريم
و بناء على طلب الاخ اكزومبي و نحاستي مدموجين معاً هذي صورة من قطعتيني من الكيكتين :> و الكيك تشطب عليه بحزتة لا و المشكله ما تذكرت اصور الا بعد ماكليت من الكيكه!،، اي و اخوي عطاني لعبتين "بقرتين" هدايا وحده منهم تقول "موووو" بس بدون نفس لوول

B-Day

I'm 27 :D

In the year that passed by, I changed a lot and my life too, a major change has occurred, a good one. I still can't escape the fact that 2.8.1990 is the worst day in my life by far, it was the day that the former Iraqi president Saddam Hussain ordered his troops to invade Kuwait.

To every thing there is an up & a down, my b-day might correspond to many with a bad date, and then again it is the date which I came into the world & use to know how much time did I spend on this planet.

3 days back, I celebrated my blog's 3rd b-day, now its my 27th :D
both odd numbers!!

She was an assassin working for "the black orchid" and was thrown from the 101st floor, after she tried to quit working for them. TI used to & still like her character the most, I found her fighting technique Ninjutsu to be the most interesting of them all.

3 years

Today my blog is officially 3 years old,,

3 years back, in 2004 I almost left this blog, to my surprise Nibaq the owner of Kuwait blogs dot com has found my blog & with his comment he pushed me to stay & become a blogger. Of course now in 2007 I would like to say sorry for the big "bdleya" ya NiBaq not NiPaq ;p

The best thing about blogging is that the only commitment I have is towards my thoughts, they make me write, also the idea of documenting some parts of my life is nice too.

To all the bloggers out there, I knew, commented on their blogs or they commented here in my blog or even passed by silently, bloggers or not, I love you all :D Because in a direct or indirect way you touched my life, some of you are like family to me, others are like friends, some made me learn lessons, some made me think several times before saying any thing... All in all I grew with this blog & along my personality too :)

Sleep-less

Dead tired, but my brain can't stop thinking :D therefore I decided to make use of this time,,



My love, The Tulip flower, I think the reasons that made me love it so much, other than it being not so popular in Kuwait or in the world compared to roses, is the fact that its shape is so delicate & feminine, I relate its shape to feminism because as you can see it is slim up to the top, becoming full in a smooth curvy way, closed up on its self a bit!! YET the best thing is that it does not have any THORNS :D unlike the infamous roses!

Occupation 101 - Documentary

Tonight I attended the documentary called "Occupation 101"

I first knew about this even from facebook, كتاب وجهك على قولة بعض الناس

I didn't think much of it, it was intresting but I wasn't sure that I want to attend, didn't join the group & didn't take action. Yesterday as I was checking around the q80 blogs I found a post about it in EXzombie's blog, so I said why not? especially that I missed the First Kuwaiti Short Film Festival, that I did want to attend. So after reading about the Documentary "Occupation 101" I decided to go, my sister canceled on the last minute so I went alone.

In beit lothan I got a little lost, but with some help I managed to find the right way to the Cinemagic Kuwait's event: screening of the documentary "Occupation 101". The best thing is that its done in my favorite day of the week Tuesday :D kidding more is on the way ;p

Regardless of my opinion of what went on here in Kuwait back in 1990 & the way a lot of Palestine's people "they of all people in the world know how it is to have your country stolen & they too of all people know how much Kuwait stood by them" act to the Iraqi invasion on Kuwait, I do sympathize with their cause. Losing a country, identity and living in a prison called home is not easy.

The documentary illustrates how powerful the media propaganda can be, how influential more than 40 VITOS can be! the number of times the USA used the Vito right they hold in the UN regarding Israeli violation of international law.

Information wise, I did gain a lot from this movie & the way they illustrated the information, including numbers or percentages was very interesting, to the extent that I did not feel bored at any time in this movie! And it is hard to keep me posted I get bored easily....

The movie started right at the heart of the current events, then moved up to the history of when the Jews were first placed there, I like placed more than immigrated :) and went on with the events/ facts up till date.

Palestine as a country held the diversity of having the 3 heavenly religions man knows, and is a holy land for the three of them! Muslims, Jews & Christians used to live side by side there, what changed over the years & made Muslims/ Arabs be criminals? Other than power, money there is media. In the movie you see the real view of different people in Israel & Jews, in or out of Israel, who one of them claimed this whole mess to be the hand craft of Zionism! saying that back in the day as his grandma told him Muslim Arabs & Jews used to live side by side. Also showed a lot peace wanting organizations in Israel, one of them was the The Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions, which fully shows an other side of Israeli people, a silent one I should add. All in all the movie shows the plain truth, what the media eye can not see nor most of the people "in the west especially" can see, since they use the media eye to see things in the middle east, in Palestine to be more spacific.

The movie is an award winning one & definitely is worth seeing, my view of the cinematic side is as follows:

The story was smooth, things were not too quick too slow, the best thing about it is that it showed us the familiar present situation that we can relate to then switched to the roots of the issue....

The jump from, an interview of an activist in any field, facts, numbers and real people was done VERY well, to the extent that I was hooked up all the time, I didn't find time to think of anything else, as I sometimes do in movies :D

The music, sound, and editing was great! The three most touching scenes for me were (1) The Palestinian kid that kept talking in a very enthusiastic way about how mad she is with all the demolition happening around them & how they are living (2) The American kid giving people a speech about kids in the Middle East, Palestine to be more pacific are just like them, normal humans with normal needs (3) the wall that Israel had built....

Last but not least, it was interesting to see the amount of money being sent to Israel from the USA and how well armed Israel is.

All in all I liked the movie and appreciate truth more & more. The only bad thing is that I did not chose a good seat! And smoking was allowed, I HATE smoking! although its an open area but still I can not cope with smoking, I didn't want to hurt the smoker's feelings but then again my lungs on one hand their feelings on the other?! I bared with it, but next time I will stay away from smokers! Now that I know that they can smoke in this event.

... Heya the May, 2007 issue



Lately I have been OVER obsessed with decor "I already do like it & admire contemporary work!". I will start furnishing my new room this weekend! The only thing I am sure of is the office :D I chose one & it will take a corner in the room, the main concern in this process is SPACE MANAGEMENT & SPACE UTILIZATION. I will do my best to plan it very well so that it fits my things well & not look like a sardine can. Oddly the decor/ furniture section in the magazine was not so bad! actually they chose pretty cool stuff to display.

Home Sweet Home

Walking on Kuwait’s shore, tide coming gradually, the cold waves cuddle my feet and the weather is amazing,,, with that I end my short time off work & almost every thing in my life.

رحلة العودة على كثر ما انها متعبه بس امتعتني! لاني برد للكويت،، فقدت الكويت بشكل ما توقعت اني ممكن احس فيه نظرا لقصر فترة رحلتي، بس من بعد الغزو صرت افتقد الكويت اكثر! هم زاد الطين بله اني بسنة الغزو كنت مسافره و خارج الكويت و قظيت فترة الغزو خارج الكويت اللي بوقتها كانت تحتاجنا، قمت افقدها بزود، ما اقدر اتم برا الكويت لاكثر من اسبوعين. لما قربنا للهبوط الكابتن يعلن درجة الحرارة بالكويت 38 سيليزية و الساعه المرتقبه للوصول 10:30 ليلا، ابتسامتي من الاذن لي الاذن محد قدي حزتها حسيت الله الكويت و بصيفها الحار، احبها. الغالبية مذهولين و بما انهم من غير سكان الكويت كان الوضع غريب بالنسبه لهم بس جدا اسعدني هالاعلان و حسيت ابي حر و صيف الكويت

يمتعني صيف الكويت على كثر ارتفاع درجة الحراره و موجات الرطوبة اللي انا فعلا بعض الاحيان ما اتحملها، الحر و الغبار يطلعون نعمه عند الرطوبه! بس اشوفه حلو، بالذات شكل البحر بعز الظهر و فترة القايله. و غير هذا الفضاوة بالصيف لان غالبية الناس بينحاشون من الحر فا الشوارع تصير اقل ازدحام، الطريج للدوام سهاله، و يا زين الكويت

Its been crazy, hectic, but at least I will try to list up some thoughts that I will publish details on later

I had the pleasure to do a radio interview with the media line, you can listen to it from here, note people I was a bit nervous hmmm a lot actually this is my first public interview! Feedback is appreciated and to tell you the truth I did want to change some of my answers & wished that I was less nervous but it was spontaneous :D oh & on the camels thing I should have made a laugh effect! to note that its a joke lol ;p

الجو حار تقريبا نفس جو الكويت بشهر 4 و بداية 5 ، بس المشي متعه :> و ردة فعل الناس على اني متحجبه امتع لوول

Days pass by like a flash over here, here is a short list of what I will elaborate on more in the up coming days:

1. Thursday: Get here safe & go to sleep! me & my bro
   
2. Friday: Getting tickets to shows, shopping, knowing a wonderful man by the name of Rod Rodriguez, having STOMP OUT LOUD tickets on the last minute! attending the first show for us in Vegas, an amazing experience a great show! I literally sat on the edge of the seat most of the show & was excited as a kid who is trying out chocolate for the first time!!!
   
3. Saturday: More tickets digging, registration for the Convention, I'm having a blast but miss Kuwait a lot, more shopping, we were too tired that we skipped the Ray show! pity he was here for only two nights!
   
4. Sunday: Out for lunch, met with fellow Kuwaitis, had a great time, knew great people. Attending the Convention opening, which was the largest crowd I have ever been among! in the hall there were 22 THOUSAND people! then an amazing breath taking show!!! this is a once in a life time thing....
5. Monday: its almost 10 am, not there yet, am going out to enjoy my time & plan for the next stop after Vegas.... wish me luck :D

** Have you ever felt that the 24 hours of the day are not enough?
i do now :D
However in a way it is nice :D as long as things are going right, when the NO's appear then it becomes messy!

** Quick trip, done on the last minute, things look nice so far, departure is INSHA'A ALLAH Thursday.

** Dr. Saleh Al-Ojiri is my choice to talk about in my up coming post in 192 countries blog.

** I am so busy to the extent that I could not read the book! but the best thing about a blog is that there is no boss waiting for your paper to be signed in ;p stay tuned it wont be long to hear about the land of the unknown!!!!

** Last thought, I might do something interesting in the VERY near future! lets see how things go in the media line ;}

Tomorrow

In the Land of the Unknown ....

is my companion tonight

a book by a Kuwaiti Author called Tarek Al-Duaij

i bought it a few months ago, tonight will read it, although i did read 28 pages in the first day i took the book & i have to admit i was hooked

*hooked and it took me all this time to decide & be done with reading it! eshloon if am not hooked??*

i have to admit i had little time + interest in reading the past few months...... however that didn't stop me from buying books at all!! and the list is pilling up......

back to the book......

not only that the stories are exciting, but to try & understand the way the author is writing in & the philosophic message behind each story! is a challenge....

i have to admit the book cover caught my eye first! not noticing the crazy + cool poster that was hanging right there in front of me, was actually to promote the book, i didn't bother to read but laughed on how the poster was like.

it had a picture of some guy's head with an odd expression on his face, as if he is screaming :D but multiplied for a zillion times ;p

in that poster, if my memory doesn't fail me the multiplied pictures of the man's face were in the form of a big swirl ?? pity i didn't take a picture of it & kept browsing in my favorite book place....

not until i got to the Indian cashier who i like so much, such a friendly guy although when you first know him he can be moody! but as time passes by he will be nicer.... I knew who was in that poster!!

he looks at the book & praises the author a lot & says a few nice things about him, and asked if i knew him, i didn't :D but the book looks appealing to me, he didn't recommend the book as much as he again praised the author & pointed out to the poster that was also behind him, the same odd funny poster i noticed before, saying this is Mr. Tarek, a thing that made me smile & like the book even more, and hated the fact of how careless am i to read whats around me!!! and we kept talking for a short while regarding the material i took that day...
