My best action cartoon EVER, and of course Duke Fleet as I mentioned before is my prince charming. So the following two places that the pictures show are in Kuwait. where exactly? that is for you to explore since they are a secret :} I can't just tell you where Grendiser gets out from.

Wonder why this post?! I used to pretend that they are long gates for Grendiser to go out from as dad drove by when I was a kid. So this post is for the old days :P

Kuwaiti Traffic solutions ! (27/9/2004 @ 4:48 PM)

Yesterday while I was out there was a traffic jam because of an accident ! Traffic stops every where in the world because of accidents.. The thing that is amazing here is the Kuwaiti way of dealing with it (assuming all 20 or more cars passed by and dealt with the situation in a very impolite way were driven by Kuwaiti people!) the car in the red square had a driver ( like the other 20 or so who were before him/her & after him/her) that thought he/she is above the traffic jam & law too ! So simply he/she can use the safety lane to jump off other people & be ahead of them .. WHY !!??

This is one of the things Kuwaiti people should change, & yeah one more thing please DO NOT let any one crossover you even if you can spare the space UNLESS they are polite enough to signal, :} because I like being "n7esa" with the people who don't use their car's yellow light to signal.

Also there is a thing I wonder about, in the end of the traffic jam there was ONLY an ambulance with a person on the floor & I found out that ALL this traffic is not from the accident it self (cars have been removed to the safe lane on the road) its from the cars passing by & the drivers STOP to watch the man on the floor !! Its the act of "6masha" as Kuwaitis say! I hate that too & wonder what is the pleasure in watching a person beside a spot of blood ?!

Will they go like
Person A : Hey I saw a nice thing on the road
person B : Wallah !!! Wein?? eshlon??
Do u thing he/she will say a new GREEN space
Person A : A dead guy !

How would that be close to be watched/told ?

Confusion !!

There seems to be a confusion about my "blog of the week" weekly article, that revolves around picking a blog to write about each week.. the thing I would like to note that this is NOT a ranking for blogs :} usually things I like to rank are steady things at least for a while of time like a month, we all know in the internet & blogging world there is a new blog every day.. Therefore every week there is something new & hence a new blog to write about. If the number right beside the article made some people get confused or think this is a rank well its not on two bases:

1- The number included in the title indicates the article number not the blog rank ELSE I would have written that in each article.

2- I didn’t include a table or a list of the blogs there fore they are not ranked to be 1st or the 10th.

So it's not about being first or last its about writing some words about blogs I liked & by these words wish to promote them & let other people enjoy what I had a nice time reading about.

Is a site he owns & gathers all Kuwaiti blogs & offers blog hosting if your interested... Kuwaiti blog listing (the main reason behind this site)... alot you can use from this site other than having a simple yet always updated list of Kuwaiti blogs you can have your own blog there & promote it.

Safat is also a thing nibaq has added to Kuwait blogs it's also a thing I like alot... want to know why I like it so much :} visit THIS link, Safat definitely saves time :). Try this LINK (RSS) which I also think of it as a mini tutorial very simple & straight to the point.

Kuwait blogs is also a blog it self :} there is an archive & very useful links for Kuwait & all about Kuwait. There I also found "mood less ::" an Arabic Kuwaiti blog I wrote about last week for being one of my favorite blogs .

The easiest way to put a link for Kuwait blogs (fully illustrated) which I have two of them in my site to promote a site I really like & get a lot of good stuff from :}. Photo blogs (which I love, I do like pictures a lot) are also there I'm telling you this guy is really working !! Check his work. Also he has a piclog/phlog too with an amazing nick (+965) rings a bell ! :).

Do you think we are done :} nope still a lot ahead because as I said this guy really works & likes to spread Kuwait around.

بالنسبة لما يحويه الموقع بأجزائه الأخرى هي كالتالي:

SleepLess

If there is a thing on the top of the list of the things I don't like in me, it would be my sleep time thing. What I mean about that is if I'm sleepy at 10 & I don't go to sleep at that time for one reason or an other then I'm sleepless for at least 4 hours later if not ALL night LONG. Book review .. الأبعاد المجهولة

كتاب قرأته مؤخرا أحببت ان اكتب عنه

الكتاب للمؤلف : عبد الوهاب السيد



اصدر بسنة 2004 و للكاتب المؤلفات (كما ذكر بنهاية الكتاب) التالية

1- وراء الباب المغلق اصدر عام 2000
2- خلف اسوار العلم اصدر عام 2003

عندما قرأت أسم الكتاب اثارني لان عنوانه (( الأبعاد المجهولة .. من مذكرات مراهق كويتي ..)) بصراحه شدني الفظول و الإستغراب لما يمكن لمراهق كويتي ان يجد مثيرا للإهتمام بدرجة كبيره ليسجل مذكراته بكتاب !! و يباع بالمكتبات .. كالعادة قرأت الغلاف بجانبيه و من ثم المقدمة التي يكتبها الكاتب و هي تشكل لي نسبة كبيرة من جذبي لإقتناء الكتاب ام لا .. اقتبس منها التالي

كتابة مذكراتي .. خطوة صعبة ترددت كثيرا قبل أن اقدم عليها .. فأنا أعلم جيدا ان مذكراتي لن تكون شيئأ راقيا كمذكرات

المناظل الأمريكي المسلم .. أو (نابليون) .. أو غيرهم من العظماء حيث تشكل الحوادث الصغيرة في حياتهم تاريخا حقيقيا تسترشد به البشرية .. إذا ما الذي يجعلني اقدم على هذة الخطوة؟! .. يقال أنه لا أحد يولد أديبا .. و من يصبح أديبا يكون إما قد قرأ أطنانا من الكتب حتى اصبح لدية فكرا مستقلا يشعر بأمس الحاجة أن يشاطر به الناس .. أو قد عاش تجارب قاسية جدا و رأى من الأهوال ما رأى حتى أصبح من الضروري أن يكتب عنها و إلا أحرقت محركات روحه!! .. و أعتقد أنني أتبع النوع الثاني من الأدباء

اغلقت الكتاب و اخذته .. لانه الصفحة الأولى فقط من مقدمة الكاتب خاطبت ما جال بخاطري :)، كسؤال لماذا ينشر مراهق و كويتي مذكراته لكي اقتنع انا و اقرأها و رأيت بما قاله منطق شدني لأقراء ما سيقوله.

الكتاب من نوع مختلف على الرواية بالكويت التي عادة تراوحت مابين تمحورها حول الأوضاع الإجتماعية و العاطفية بالتحديد (كما ذكر الكاتب) .. قلما نجد من يخوض مجال الخيال العلمي الذي تطرق له الكاتب بهذة المذكرات بمهارة جدا بهرتني.. على الرغم من اني احب ان اخفي الكثير مما يحمله الكتاب الا اني اتحمس لكي اقول ما اثار اهتمامي به و جعلني انهيه بيوم واحد على الرغم من انه قبع بين الأرفف فترة من الزمن قبل ان اقرأه ..

داخل المذكرات ترى حالة المراهق الكويتي بالتحديد و بالعموم خصال كثيره تشمل المراهقين و عقلياتهم، يحمل الكثير من الأفكار التي اما انك عايشتها بمرحلة المراهقة أو رأيتها بمن هم حولك (سواء كانت المراهقه مبكره ام متأخره :> ) عموما نعود للكتاب ينقسم الى اربع ابواب اذا صح القول كل منها يحمل جزء من حياة هذا المراهق المثير للأهتمام (خالد) بطل الرواية و لن اتطرق لمحتوى كل باب لكي لا احرق الكتاب ..

شدني بالأحداث هو عدم قدرتك على توقع ما ستؤول اليه الحاله التي تعايشها مع خالد .. على الرغم من اني بالباب الثاني توقعت النهاية لانه جعل الكثير من الوضوح يدور حول النهاية لذا استطعت رؤيتها لكن الباب الأول و الثالث و الرابع لم اتوقع انحراف الأحداث بهذا الشكل بتاتا.. جدا مشوق السرد و الأسلوب الذي اتخذه الكاتب.

أكثر ما اثار بالبداية اعجابي هو خلطه بين مشاكل الواقع الكويتي بهذه المذكرات فعلى الهامش لابد ان تجد كلمه (حقيقة) مرفقه بنجمة تدلك على سخط الكاتب على واقع اليم بالكويت .. و لكن هناك هامش بعد تكرره لاكثر من 3 مرات اصبحت اتنبأ به الا وهو .. راجع القصة الفلانية لان البطل بكل بداية قصة يذكرنا بلمحة من سابقتها .. لكن الكتاب جدير بالقراءة و فعلا احسست بأن للكتاب الكويتيين مجالات لم يتطرقوا لها و يستطيعون الإبداع بها .

جدا اعجبت بأسلوب الكاتب (عبد الوهاب السيد) و الخيال الواسع الذي يتمتع به و على الرغم من انه خيال الا اني اندمجت به كثيرا و اعجبني .. و اعجبتني النهايات الغير متوقعة .. كتاب يستحق القراءة ان كنت من محبي القراءة بشتى المواضيع جربه .. متوفر ب فيرجن ومكتبة جرير

A lot of Kuwaiti & non Kuwaiti bloggers go to this Kuwaiti blog done by Zaydoun. Although in the introduction about him self he says " Failed writer" it is not true (as I think). I couldn't find a better description for the blog other than what he said about it "Random thoughts, commentary & gossip from Kuwait''.
There you will find every thing to know about Kuwait, local events, opinions and it is probably the most famous of all Kuwaiti blogs :} which started around the time that the Iraq liberation war started last year. After you read an article or two you will know why is this guy SO good ! & you will keep visiting. It's the first Kuwaiti BLOG I ever knew about through an AD in the Mad M2000 Yahoo!Group (who is now a blogger member ) that spreads the famous Kuwaiti cartoonist work through the internet.

Back to Zaydoun, here are a few articles I liked but are nothing compared to the archive he has 'these are resent articles', search it you will find a lot of interesting topics, opinions and amusing subjects.

• What is a LIBERAL? , GREAT post is the only comment I have about this one since it tackles a very controversial issue in the Kuwaiti society (the definition to what a liberal is !!).

The list goes on & on the archives start from March 2003 .. so you can see it's a bit hard to dig into them :} go to the blog & enjoy if you are open minded. Although I don't agree with all of his opinions but definetly admire the way he writes, very sharp in his opinions, clear, spontanious and creative.

This is one good professional Kuwaiti blogger... and it is true as the e-mail I first read about the blog says " ZAYDOUN RULES!!" & he does among the bi-lingual Kuwaiti blogs.

SmiLe :} .. Observe the disaster afterwards!

Not much for the intro today :) I will go straight to it since a smile today "AGAIN" went to someone's mind in the wrong direction!.. Smiling in Kuwait is somehow turned into a crime, surely this doesn't apply to all people here in Kuwait nor always BUT in general:

• If you are a girl & smile in a man's face then your flirting.
• If your a girl & smiled in an other girls face then you have noticed something wrong in her outer look or your just a person who wants to make fun of her.

The thing is a smile is a part of being friendly not really for any other reason! Why is it so hard to smile here with out un-wanted attention. There is DEFINITELY a huge difference between a flirt smile & a friendly one! SO why not assume all smiles are just friendly & not as a gate that says : Hey !! Can we flirt. When will all people see a smile as it is ONLY & nothing behind it ?.

This Friday's lunch >> Faked spaghetti

In order not to lose my cooking passion I usually practice it of Fridays :}, unless I have a lack of sleep !! I really enjoy my day off sleeping.

This Friday I made a spaghetti with the following ingredients & recipe..

ingredients:
4 Fresh medium sized tomatoes cut in to small squares
1 Large chopped (square) onion
1 minced meat pack ( aprox. 1kg)
1/2 tomato paste pack ( small KDD ones)
Salt, pepper, dry za'atar leaves
1 pack of spaghetti
1 table spoon of vegetable oil

How To Do It ?

1- Boil the pasta in water & add some salt, after the water boils in 10 minutes add one table spoon of vegetable oil. When ready take it from the hot water & wash it thoroughly with cold water so the pasta doesn't stick together.

2- Little amount of vegetable oil in a large pan fry the onions till the are out of the white color DON'T let them turn gold .. Then add the meat .. Stir till well cooked.

3-Add the salt,pepper & with ur hand crush the dry za'atar leaves so they would be very small & add the tomatoes to the mix, then a little bit of tomato past.. Taste it till it is good enough for you.

4- Put the pasta in the plate you want to serve it in, don't forget to roll it in a way you leave a space in the middle for the meat & tomato sauce.


Garlic Bread :

1- Fresh French bread .. I advice u with the "Delice Du France" ones in Mishrif Co.Op., or the ones in Sultan center.
2- 2 large garlic mashed with half a tea spoon of salt.
3- mozzarella cheese.

How To Do It?

1- Slice the French bread the way you like, the advisable is from the side in a slight angle ( the usual cut for the garlic bread) .. Thickness around 2cm.

2- Mash the garlic with the salt (salt is added to make the mashing thing easy, if u don't like it :} take it away).

3- On each slice of bread put some garlic paste then add some mozzarella cheese.

4- Put in the oven with an upper fire only on .. Till the cheese turns golden.

Today's Chill place >> Barnies coffee

I was so busy this week & even didn't go out on Tuesday to write the Tuesday chill place thing.. Any how went to the Shweikh Port area today & passed by barnies coffee which was nice .. True the beverages are hmmm OK but not that good. The cakes are ok too but no new or surprising flavor .. The thing I liked there is the sofas :P very cumfy .. The other reason i liked it is that it is DESERTED no one is there .. Day or night people rarelly come there especially if there is no sale in Villa moda, except for a few love birds you might see there .. The place is small quiet, you really can relax there & even read a book without other eyes surrounding you thinking you are showing off ! Or just make jokes about you because you read :D.

لطالما حملت فكرة ان الحب و أي نوع من المشاعر الصادقة التي يحس بها قلب الشخص هي له و خاصته .. و لا يحق له ان يندم عليها حتى و إن منحها لمن لا يستحق .. او حدث ان رحل لسبب أو آخر الذي احسسنا تجاهه بتلك المشاعر الجميله، رحيل اجباري او طوعي، مر ام حلو، سعيد ام تعيس .. تبقى مشاعرنا اغلى من ان نتجاهلها و لمجرد موقف عابر مع احدهم ولا يجب ان نندم عليها .. لانها صادقه .. فلكل احساس جميل حملته و لا زلت احمله بداخلي مكان لم و لن يتغير.

The issue in this post simply revolves around the if you ever had love or any kind of beautifull feelings towards any person & if yur away from each other, you shouldn't give up or hate these feelings no matter what, The separation reason might be good or bad ! but never separate what is beautifull & true from you. keep the good feelings inside you & never give up on them. I also included a poem by an arabic poet called Bader Bin AbdulMuhsen, which is a Saudi prince. When I read it I felt like its on the DOT regarding what I tought about. This whole idea came when I felt like a friend is being away for a long while & dispite that I still have the same feelings inside & will never give them up :} ever.

If your into seeing pictures around Kuwait of various issues (Hardee's is there too), probably like EVERY THING you could & couldn't think of .. Its going to be fun for you.

Add to that the nice comments he adds to the pictures where they go from sarcastic, nagging (which he is totally right about to be sure click the link!), bad Kuwait towers description (that one really made me laugh), serious, Loss of a dear friend (deepest condolences) to educational in a few pictures and never the less immages of some of the regretfully true flipped up situations in Kuwait.

I'm more of a cat loving girl but this DOG is sooo cute which I fell in love with its innocent look, its name (mentioned in the post) is "chips" :} that is one cute dog. And never the less the most amazing simplest effects picture I ever saw, simple yet attractive.. And a lot more .. It is actually one of the blogs that I must visit every day right after I check my e-mail :} to see the new pictures & comments on.

Nokia 7610's AD

Did any one see what I saw in this AD for the Nokia 7610 !!




Is it just me or the model's teeth are not straight?
Is it just me or the whole theme of the model goes back to the late 80's style?
Is it just me or the earrings are HEDIOUS?
Is it just me or the model DOES NOT look nice here?

From what I know about advertising is that it should attract people, this AD didn't attract me & a punch of people around me, The woman in the AD is a model which means she should be picked carefully & if not beautiful at least good looking & in this picture in particular I don't see that.

I can like the 80's theme of the whole mobile view & model too but this picture of her in the AD is not any way close to be nice. Checked the NOKIA site for a better view (if you didn't see the originally AD spread around Kuwait's streets) & there I saw other nicer pictures of the same model. So why pick this one.

Is it because of the fact that NOKIA is widely spread among people & makes great sales!?.. Although not so efficient (in my personal opinion), has a lack of one completely full with the late technology mobile and every two or three weeks you see a new mobile with the same technology & a little better! That makes yours less in price by the third!!.. PLUS the fact you will walk around & see that every one I MEAN EVERY ONE has the same kind of mobile regardless of the person's real need to have a mobile with that kind of technologies in it or not.

The funniest thing about this whole post is that I own the Nokia 6600!! ( I guess you can figure that out from the picture I took) Which is now like looking for 1KD with every person In Kuwait...? hmm naa its more of lets say 10 FILS! .. And since life is experiences & we learn from our mistakes & I bought it in a GOOD price (which I could have got a p900, or an i-Mate with a little more added) I decided to keep it for the sake of telling my self... ((Remember your 6600 & what happened then?? then don't do the same mistake again.. Also got the lesson that popular is not necessarily GOOD))... Although I kinda liked it with time... But still crap.

يوم الكسل و النوم .. في هذا اليوم اعلنت الإخلاص للنوم و الإستسلام التام له .. استمتعت بما يزيد عن ال12 ساعه من النوم ولازلت اتعطش للعوده و النوم مجددا .. لذا لن اكتب ماهو مفيد ولكن سأعتبر ان هذه المقاله كتذكار ليوم الكسل العالمي الذي احتفلت به اليوم .. مع نفسي. مع تمنياتي لنفسي و للكل بيوم عمل جميل غداَ بأجواء الكويت البارده و لا تنسوا فالأمطار العاتيه تستلزم ان تأخذوا الحيطه و إعداد المظلات الواقيه من الأمطار و البردي :) .
